OK.

I'm going to convert this to a Question, because it is really not a bug in Cubic.

Then I'll give you a few suggestions on how to achieve what you are trying to do.

If you create a custom ISO using Cubic, and boot into the custom ISO, you will be presented with a dialog offering two options:

  1. Try Ubuntu

  2. Install Ubuntu

The user wants to bypass this Ubiquity dialog. (See https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1837198).

APPROACH # 1
------------------------

If you do not want the user to be presented with the Ubiquity Welcome dialog with the two options, "Try Ubuntu" or "Install Ubuntu"), you can simply uninstall the Ubiquity package using Cubic, and generate the customized ISO.

    $ sudo apt remove ubiquity

This way, Ubiquity will not be available to run, and the Ubiquity's Welcome dialog will not be displayed.

However, the user will not be able to install your customized OS, and will only be able to use the Live environment.
(You can actually create a user with a password in Cubic, if you don't want the default "ubuntu" user for the Live environment).

[NOTE: I will add other approaches for achieving this without uninstalling Ubiquity, if I can validate that they work.]

The above works great for both Startup Disk Creator and UNetbootin installs. If you are using a persistent flash drive you will want to add the word persistent.
