How to customize ESET SysRescue using Cubic?

Asked by Cubic PPA

After customizing ESET SysRescue (https://www.eset.com/int/support/sysrescue/) using Cubic, you get the error "(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system" when you try to boot the customized ISO.

Hoe can this error be avoided?

When you try to boot into a customized ESET SysRescue ISO, you get the error "(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system".

This is because the ESET SysRescue boot loader expects the boot parameter, "live-media=/dev/disk/by-label/eSysRescueLiveCD" where the volume id "eSysRescueLiveCD" is used.

To avoid this error, edit the Volume ID text field in the "Custom ISO..." section, on Cubic's Project Page, as follows.

Change: "eSysRescueLiveCD YYYY.XX.XX"

To: "eSysRescueLiveCD"

(Note that ESET SysRescue is not an offically supported Ubuntu distribution, and is therefore not officially supported by Cubic).

(Also, see Bug # 1814598, https://bugs.launchpad.net/cubic/+bug/1814598, for more information).
