Shuffle Slideshow Images Before Creation

Hello,

I currently use another background slideshow app (the name escapes me, but it's a panel applet) that, instead of creating a static slideshow, sets the images as it goes. This allows full randomization of playback.

But I understand that the purpose of Crebs is to create a static slideshow. So my question is: would it be possible to add a button to the creation interface to shuffle the images? This would not be full randomization, but when I get sick of one sequence, I can simply create a new slideshow.

You're right: Create Background Slideshow has been designed so far as a tool for creating slideshows from a specific sequence of images. But that's an interesting idea, and I think it shouldn't be too difficult to implement, at least in terms of the coding. The biggest challenge would be deciding where in the user interface to put such a button, as I'm currently trying to simplify that.

So it might turn up as a command-line option first. In any case I'll add another answer here when the time comes.

Yeah, that question occurred to me too: where to put the button. But I'm sure there's a good solution.

Let me know when the feature is complete or if you decide not to go with it.
