Current version number and future update?

Hi,
First of all congrats on this great project! Second, I realized I have installed version 1.7-4 from the PPA but according to the program's About section, I have version 1.6, which one is right?. Also is there any plan for an update to the PPA anytime soon?

Ok, cool but then I have another question, in the tar file for version 1.7 there is a python file for guayadeque and other media players that don't show up in the options when installed. Is that file not supposed to be installed and if not how can I fix it? Thanks for the prompt answer BTW!
