Why does compiz-gtk depend on Metacity?

Asked by Vincent

I reported this as a bug <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/96912> but I was told to post it here, so...

Why does compiz-gtk depend on Metacity? I'm on Xubuntu and don't want Metacity of course. Isn't compiz-gtk a window decorator in itself?

Compiz-Gtk allows use of Metacity Themes. Which may be the reason why it depends on it. It is a window decorator in itself, but also allows Metacity themes.

But it does not really "depend" on metacity, so it should be "recommends", right? If so, shouldn't I file a bug report?
