Are there minimum OS Kernal Version requirements for MYSQL/GALERA

Asked by Kevin Pettit

Are there minimum OS Kernal Version requirements for MYSQL/GALERA?

I am getting the following error when I try to startup MySQL-GALERA
/lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found

I am running on SUSE 10 kernel version 2.6.16.60-0.21-smp

Thanks.

Kevin.

Kevin,

The issue you are facing is probably glibc incompatibility. I guess you are using binary distribution (.tgz), right? You could try our 0.7.4-2 builds (links are available from http://groups.google.com/group/codership-team/browse_thread/thread/5c54f3a42ed97863 ) which should have better glibc compatibility. Please let me know if those work for you.

So far we have not heard about any issues with older kernel versions, 2.6.16 should be recent enough.

I hope this helps,

- Teemu
