Thank you for reporting!
I'll need a bit more information:
1. How did you install the IDE? Using pip or using the debian package?
2. Did you have a previous version of ocide?
3. What is the output of "ls /usr/local/
4. What is the output of "pip3 list"?

Are you sure? I didn't know ocide was in the ubuntu repositories (a quick search show that it isn't). What repository? Universe?

Just to emphasis, it's not that I don't believe you but I need to know how you installed the application to have a chance to reproduce (and fix) your problem.
In the meantime, you can try to uninstall pyqode.core, pyqode.qt and pyqode.cobol using pip and see if it works better:
pip3 uninstall pyqode.qt pyqode.core pyqode.qt

Now, please send me the next steps to install OCI ,again! (step by step, because I'm beginner in Ubuntu)

If uninstalling pyqode does not fix the problem, this means you have both a pip install of OCIDE and a debian package install. I suggest to remove both packages first:
- sudo pip3 uninstall opencobolide
- sudo apt-get remove opencobolide
- run "pip3 list" and make sure you don't seen any pyqode packages and any opencobolide packages. If you see one, report back before proceeding to the next step.
Now you can install OCIDE using the debian package: https:/
If you still have an issue, report back and I will look into the issue during the weekend (I need to reinstall a fresh version of ubuntu in virtual box, I am an archlinux user...). BTW which version of ubuntu are you using?

So... I did:
" sudo pip3 uninstall opencobolide"
Proceed (y/n)? y
Successfully uninstalled OpenCobolIDE
The "pip3 list" returns:
OpenCobolIDE (4.7.1)
pyqode.cobol (2.8.0)

Most probably this happens because multiple version have been installed using different methods. I suggest you run the pip3 uninstall commands once more (and repeat this process while there are still some pyqode/ocide packages found by pip3 list and version are different from OCIDE 4.7.1 and pyqode.cobol 2.8.0):
sudo pip3 uninstall opencobolide
sudo pip3 uninstall pyqode.cobol
If you cannot get rid of them using pip3, you will have to remove them manually...
