can't install daily build of chromium-browser: need libgtk2.0.0 (>= 2.17.0)

Asked by Anton Kudris

I was using chromium-browser for about 2 weeks by now on daily basis and it works well for me. Today I tried upgrading it and failed: new chromium-browser depends on libgtk2.0.0 (>=2.17.0) while I have libgtk2.0.0 (2.16.1-0ubuntu2) in my jaunty.

I've found new version of libgtk2 here (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/i386/libgtk2.0-0/2.17.0-0ubuntu1) but it has it's own dependencies and so on. Are there any simple (simpler than compiling from sources) way of installing new libgtk2 ?

if you are on jaunty, you need to use the "jaunty" lines in your /etc/apt/sources.list ... most likely you use "karmic" there, which is the current development release of ubuntu.
