How to export metrics' labels to promtheus2?

Hello,

I'm trying to extend the [prometheus-node-exporter](https://github.com/omnivector-solutions/charm-prometheus-node-exporter) charm to add custom labels when exporting metrics.

I'm trying to add a field `labels` in the relation data for that, but so far, I was unable to send them to prometheus2, for it to extend the targets with the labels.

Is there an example or documentation on how to do this?
