cgmail window: manual start service required on restart?

Asked by Alex Rybicki

Hi,
I have been using and loving cGmail for over a year now, but I have one slight annoyance. when i first start a session, cgmail currently loads its window, after which i have to manually click the "Start Service" button within the cGmail GUI. It is not a huge inconvenience, but it is slightly tedious. I currently do not use the autostart option within the preferences menu of cGmail. Instead i use the Sessions Preferences GUI of Ubuntu to run cGmail after a new GDM login.
My question is: Is there a better way to do this, or do i have to accept this minor inconvenience? The behavior i would like is to have the program run in the background, and not require any action on my part to start the session, and then close the cGmail window.
Thank you in advance. Again, i love using cGmail, and it is my preferred email checker.

im marking this as answered.
hopefully these changes make it in the next version of cGmail:
For anyone who runs into this as well
do this in terminal:

$ gedit ~/.config/autostart/cgmailservice.desktop

then paste the following lines within the document:

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=cGmail email checker
Exec=cgmailservice
X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true
