Installation problem

Asked by Hector Acevedo

Hello,

I have faithfully followed the installation instructions from the PPA and I get an error message: "Unable to locate package cardapio".

Consequently I proceeded to download "cardapio_0.9.202-0recipe887+1-custom-webupd8-xenial0_all.deb" and I get a dependency error indicating that "python-gmenu" is required.

Back to the terminal with "sudo apt-get update" and then "sudo apt-get install python-gmenu" and now the report goes "Unable to locate package python-gmenu".

I am using Lubuntu 16.04 64 bit with Cairo Dock and trying to use it in stand-alone mode only.

Can you provide some help on this issue?

@Hector Acevedo
The package python-gmenu was removed form Xenial before it was released therefor you are probably following outdated instructions.

Latest Cardapio should be installable as follows:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:eugenesan/ppa
sudo apt update
sudo apt install cardapio

Thanks for the reply. I was able to install Cardapio but it does not work.

It appears in the applications menu of Cairo Dock and I can drag it into the dock itself as a launcher. Still does not work and if invoked in a terminal, I get the message: "AttributeError: 'Cardapio' object has no attribute 'xdg_menu_prefix'".

I also tried "cardapio hidden" and makes no difference. Hope you can help.

As you can see in message #2 Cardapio IS NOT WORKING for me. If invoked in a terminal, I get the message: "AttributeError: 'Cardapio' object has no attribute 'xdg_menu_prefix'".
 I wll appreciate if anyone can help with this issue.
