What exactly does “not known to the LLS” mean?

Asked by Thorsten Glaser

Hi,

what exactly does it mean when a website is “not known to the Launchpad
Login Service”, and can that be changed for sites?

Examples are Google’s Android Gerrit, but also fanfiction archives and
other sites (probably most of those in my history of having authenti-
cated to).

Just wondering.

Right now, it means that the site you're logging in to isn't whitelisted by Ubuntu SSO and Launchpad login. We plan to change this behaviour as part of our work to make the login service more usable with general OpenID consumers (see bug #648512 for this particular task).
