Sum_distr returns a segmentation fault (core dumped) for the VLQ model

Asked by tessa h

Hello,

I have multiple distributions which I would like to sum to make a python plot, but summing them using sum_distr returns with the error segmentation fault (core dumped) with no error code. This has not occurred in my previous uses of sum_distr, so I am at a loss.

Many thanks,
Tessa

Hello Tessa,

please provide  the following details to <email address hidden>

(which can be found in results folder)

1. prt file(s)

2. session.dat file(s)

3. the list of subprocesses and let us know

if you use or do not use PDF functions

Regards,

Alexander

Hi Tessa,

I have got your files.

The problem was that you have been summing up IDENTICAL PROCESSES, for
example

sasha-laptop:~/tmp/calchep_problems/tessa/Error files/dupl> grep "\->"  *
distr_1:u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_2:u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_3:u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_4:u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_5:u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
prt_1:#Subprocess 1 ( u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W- )
prt_17:#Subprocess 1 ( u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W- )
prt_17:#Subprocess 1 ( u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W- )
prt_2:#Subprocess 1 ( u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W- )
prt_3:#Subprocess 1 ( u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W- )
prt_4:#Subprocess 1 ( u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W- )
prt_5:#Subprocess 1 ( u, u~ -> b, b~, W+, W- )

After dublicate removal  one left with 12 subprocesses and respective
distributions to sum up

distr_10:t, t~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_11:u~, u -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_12:d~, d -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_13:s~, s -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_14:c~, c -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_15:b~, b -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_16:t~, t -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_6:d, d~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_7:s, s~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_8:c, c~ -> b, b~, W+, W-
distr_9:b, b~ -> b, b~, W+, W-

which CalcHEP does without problem

Best,

Alexander

P.S. We will improve diagnostic of CalcHEP in the future versions
