calchep-pythia interface
Hi,
I am trying to generate some processes in inert doublet model using calchep. For this I am using UFO file generated by Feynrule. I am using the batch mode. I have three new particles namely ~H0, ~H+/-, ~A0 and replace their decay widths by e.g. !WHch so that Calchep calculates it automatically depending on the interactions. Finally I am using the calchep-pythia interface for further simulation.
When I generate p p -> ~H0, ~H0 followed by the decay ~H0 -> ~A0,Z , the result is as per expectation after passing the .lhe file to pythia . Also I have noticed that in .lhe files the widths and decay modes of the new particles are present.
Now I try to generate only p p -> ~H0,~H0 . As .lhe file contains all the necessary information regarding decays of ~H0, I would expect that PYTHIA would decay ~H0 following the decay tables. However this is not happening ,instead PYTHIA is declaring ~H0 as a stable particle i.e. status code =1.
Is it necessary to declare the decays at calchep level always ?
This is certainly not true for SM. , e.g. if I generate only p p -> Z, Z leaving it undecayed at calchep level and then pass it to PYTHIA , Z is decayed eventually .
Why is not happening in my case i.e. for inert doublet? Could you please suggest ?
Thanks,
Nabanita
