export model from CalcHEP

Asked by samwell187

Hi, I have modified the default Standard Model model that ports with CalcHEP by adding a heavy mediator that couples some dark matter particles to the Standard Model. I would like to use this repeatedly -- is there a way to export the model so that I do not need to re-enter these particles, parameters, and vertices again? Is my only option to run ./calchep from this directory or can I define this as a new model?

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam,

Yes, you can reuse this model. Wherever you have a CalcHEP work directory, you can run ./calchep and in the model directory, choose "Import Model". At this point, you can choose the directory where your model is (look at the manual to see how to efficiently choose a model.) Your model is in "models" subdirectory of the work directory where you created it.

By the way, you can do this from your current work directory and have multiple copies of your model in the same working directory.

Best wishes,
Neil

Hi Sam,

when you have created your model, you have already effectively exported it --
it is in the "models" directory under the certain number.

Then, if you have another work directory, you can simply import the model from the
"models" directory of your initial work directory. The import can be done using the method Neil has just described to you.

Of course you can upload your model to HEPMDB (I have registered you there few days ago) and run it there.

Cheers,
