Problem running n_calchep

Asked by Khaled Teilab

Hi,

I use the pcm_cycle script to do an energy scan of meson production in proton-proton collisions at energies of few GeV.
When running the script, I always obtain the following error message for each new value of the incoming momenta.

PROCESS: p*+->2*x
/home/teilab/feynmancalc/calchep/calchep_3.4/sbin/newProcess: 87: exit: Illegal number: -1
 Can not compile p*+->2*x
mv: cannot stat `results/list_prc.txt': No such file or directory
mv: cannot stat `results/list_prc.txt': No such file or directory
Pcm=0.955[GeV] sigma=1.1825E+06[pb]
PROCESS: p*+->2*x
/home/teilab/feynmancalc/calchep/calchep_3.4/sbin/newProcess: 87: exit: Illegal number: -1
 Can not compile p*+->2*x
mv: cannot stat `results/list_prc.txt': No such file or directory
mv: cannot stat `results/list_prc.txt': No such file or directory
Pcm=0.956[GeV] sigma=1.3639E+06[pb]

I have 2 questions:
1) What could be the reason for such an error? Before I was using a "light" version of the Lagrangian and I didn't have this error.
2) Why do I still get a result at the end? Shouldn't the program crash if it is not able to compile a certain routine? Are the obtained results reliable?

Hope you could help me on that.
Regards,
Khaled

Hi Khaled,

in order to check this problem we need to know at least what do
enter for pcm_cycle,
ideally we need to know your model and input to reproduce your problem.

Thank you,
   Sasha

Hello Sasha,
I will send you model files per E-Mail, since I don't find the possibility to add attachments here.
Thanks a lot,
Khaled

Hi Khaled,
I have got your e-mail and have replied.
In the future you can pass your model etc via links to the Dropbox, for example.
I did not manage to reproduce your problem, please try it with the fressh CalcHEP installation.
Cheers,
 Sasha
