Scatter and function in same chart

Asked by oystein

Hi,

Is it possible to have a scatter plot and a function plot in the same chart? One of the most common engineering tasks is to have a series of measurements (scatter) and then develop a model based on the these measurements. Typically developed using a regression. It is then really interesting to plot the scatter together with regression (same chart) for the visualisation.

Is this possible with cairoplot? In case 'yes': How?

Not yet.
You won't be able to create a plot using 2 different plotting classes, but
it's a plan for the near future. We are making some structural changes in
order to provide better use of the API. As soon as we are finished, we'll
start looking into that and some other new features.

I'm sorry to provide a negative answer, but I'll update this as soon as we
create the mixing class.

Thanks for the interest, and please let us know if you have any other
doubts.

Best regards,

Rodrigo
