Unity bar intruding

Asked by Aaack Aardvark

Hi, first of all i would like to thank you very much for this dock. I'm starting to use it in my everyday work and it's just what i need to feel comfortable.

I was having extreme difficulties to have more than one workspace, To achieve that i had to recall Cairo-dock from gnome, instead of using the session that comes with the packages.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 up to date, with two monitors, and have installed the Gnome desktop that comes by default with the distro.

Now i found that installing the lastest dev version i could finally have more than one workspace and the app that switches and creates it works. YAY!

Except... now also i have the unity bar by duplicate (one on each monitor) and a crazy high resistance to move the pointer of the mouse between screens.

Here's a screenshot of my current issue:

Also the decorations of the windows are weird and on the top of the screen i have a black bar that I guess it was the default unity bar.

Is there a way to remove those elements from my screen, keeping the multiple workspaces feature?

Thank you very much in advance.

This was a user error (that is me).

Toying with the compiz settings accidentally i enabled the Unity plugin which caused that ugly bar to appear, disabling the plugin made my session return to normality.

Great :-)

Note that the support of Compiz and Cairo-Dock session has been improved in the development version: adding new workspaces from Switcher applet, checking that the dock and Compiz can communicate via DBus in order to have more interractions (show all windows of a launcher when clicking on it, etc.).
You can test this development version by adding our "Weekly" PPA: http://www.glx-dock.org/ww_page.php?p=ppa%20Weekly&lang=en
