PPA on EOAN and warnings while running

Asked by Markvanbeek

Hello,

to be clear, I run Kubuntu 19.10. I've got three questions:

First: I tried to add the repository, but the following errors:

Err:10 http://ppa.launchpad.net/caffeine-developers/ppa/ubuntu eoan Release
404 Not Found [IP: 2001:67c:1560:8008::15 80]

E: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/caffeine-developers/ppa/ubuntu eoan Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.

I there something I can fix here? I just used the commands as given on this website...

Second: I did manage to install Caffeine 2.9.4-2 through the regular repository, but get the following warnings

/usr/bin/caffeine-indicator:184: PyGIDeprecationWarning: Since version 3.11, calling threads_init is no longer needed. See: https://wiki.gnome.org/PyGObject/Threading
GObject.threads_init()
/usr/bin/caffeine-indicator:106: DeprecationWarning: AyatanaAppIndicator3.Indicator.set_icon is deprecated
self.AppInd.set_icon(icon_name)

while running caffeine or caffeine-indicator. Is this something that is fixed in a newer version?

Three: On pkgs.org versions 3.4.2 and 2.9.5 are also mentioned, while on Launchpad 2.9.6 is the current version?

Is it an idea to put Caffeine on Flatpak/hub or Snap Store?

Best Regards,

Mark
