Timed activation

Asked by Christian Campbell on 2010-11-07

In Lucid (caffeine 1, I presume) I could click on the icon and select to activate Caffeine for a timed interval (e.g. 1/2 hour, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, etc). Upon upgrade to Maverick and Caffeine 2, I can only activate or deactivate Caffeine. Is it possible to enable the timed activation? I thought that it was a terrific feature. In Lucid the Caffeine icon was in the system tray, and now it is in the notification area. I have tried to add the icon to the system try by removing the notification area, but the results are the same.

We removed that feature from the menu because a limitation with Application Indicators, however it is possible we could add it to the menu again. In the mean time, you can still do timed activation from the terminal, for more on that run "man caffeine" or "caffeine -h" from the terminal.
