Bazaar Explorer on Mac

Asked by NyRy

After much hand ringing I got Bazaar Explorer on the Mac installed. I wrote up my how which I will post separately. I also have a couple of questions:

1. What's the easiest way to launch Explorer? Right now I go to the Terminal and type "bzr explorer." I tried moving the Python app in the dock to a permanent spot in the dock, but it doesn't launch Explorer.

2. It seems like the icons at the top of the window in Explorer are too close to the top of the window. Is that just me or what?

I'm using:

  • OS X, 10.5.8
  • Bazaar Explorer 1.0.0dev
  • QBzr 0.18.0
  • bzrlib 2.0.1
  • PyQt 4.6
  • Python 2.5.1

1. Typing "bzr explore" or "bzr explore /path/to/explore" is currently the best way to launch Explorer. Since Explorer is currently implemented as a Bazaar plugin, it is not a standalone application that can be launched from the Dock. (There is a possibility of making an AppleScript or Automator workflow that will run this command and can be placed on the Dock.)

2. This is a bug that has been fixed in a recent version of Bazaar Explorer. Either update by getting the Bazaar branch at lp:bzr-explorer or wait for the next binary release for Mac OS X which should be out soon.

Can you help with this problem?
