svn externals like capability: common subdirectories

subversion has an svn:externals property that allows you to create links to other project directories. This is useful if you have multiple related projects that share common subdirectories. Is there a way to implement this in bazaar? It's important that when a common subdirectory is updated that all the projects which share this common subdirectory see the new updates.
