Using bzr to create an archive from svn

Asked by Rob

Hi,

We're considering using Bazaar where I work because of the benefit of "archiving" a repository when we're done with a project -- a way to zip up the files and all change history in case we need it later and store the zip file as part of our backups. I think bzr will work great in this capacity and archives better than subversion, IMO. Also, I think bzr will be able to unzip the archive, make whatever changes we needed, check those back in, and zip it up for archival again.

To the question:
As we've worked on many projects over the years, our subversion repository is huge. We'd like a way to pull all files and history out of subversion to archive each project. I tried using bzr-svn to do this but wasn't able to. Is there a way to do this? If so, could someone please explain?

Thanks,
Rob

You may need to discuss your configuration and needs in greater detail on IRC: #bzr on freenode, ask for jelmer who is the bzr-svn author or just fire your questions, many others may help.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Rob for more information if necessary.
