Bazaar GTK GUI Windows install help

Asked by Dave Nadler

I'm new to Bazaar, trying to install GUI on Windows XP.
I can't get the GUI to run.

I believe I followed all the instructions on the page http://bazaar-vcs.org/WindowsInstall
(though the final paragraph about creating a new BAT is a bit unclear).
Anyway, despite trying a variety of PYTHONPATH settings etc, I get:

dnadler@ma2dnadler2 /cygdrive/c/python25/bzrtools
$ olive-gtk
You need to install python-glade2 and/or pygtk2 (gtk2) or set your PYTHONPATH co
rrectly.
try: export PYTHONPATH=/usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/

Now, the windows directory containing the installed packages appears to be:
c:\Python25\Lib\site-packages

Per the installation instructions, gtk-2.0 is installed in this directory.

HELP !
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards, Dave

Further note: trying to run from regular windows command prompt (not cygwin as above)gives an error dialog:
This application has failed to start because libglade-2.0-0,dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

do you have a reason why you are not using the recommended windows installer, which would probably give you a lot less hassles. eg:
http://launchpad.net/bzr/1.13/1.13/+download/bzr-setup-1.13-1.exe

Hi Marius - Background: I'm looking at Mercurial or Bazaar for some upcoming work.
To be successful, whichever we choose needs:
- clear and reliable installation (Windows and Linux)
- good group support
- good functionality is given (both products have many happy users)

I tried to find the Windows install for Bazaar and ended up on a page with broken instructions (you guys might want to kill it or put a health warning at the top):
http://bazaar-vcs.org/WindowsInstall
Thanks to your help, I found the download that includes both Tortoise and Bazaar. Unfortunately, the GUI install (which I believe is for things like repository administration) is broken (at minimum the instructions are broken, on page above)...

Thanks again for your help,
Best Regards, Dave
