what python ide are you using, what Refactorings do you like?

Asked by PeterSommerlad

Hi all,

I wonder if and what python IDE you are using for bzr development. I am very eager to support Refactoring for non-java languages in Eclipse. Two of my students provided "Extract Method" and some generators to the pydev Eclipse Plugin. For the next semester, I plan to have students extend that, and I wonder what kind of Refactorings/Generators Python developers ask for.

You can send me any "important" Refactoring you'd like to see from an Eclipse python IDE.

Thanks
Peter Sommerlad.

Hi, I'm not sure this is the correct forum for questions like these
(other than questions about bzr itself), but:

There have been requests for Eclipse support from time to time,
Guillermo Gonzalez acted upon that and started work on it:
https://beta.launchpad.net/bzr-eclipse

Most developers I'm aware of use vim though (where you'd probably use
bicyclerepairman for refactoring)
