bzr for Windows with python 2.6

Asked by Eric Lake

I see that there is an installer for Windows running python 2.4 or 2.5. I am running python 2.6 and I am curious if there is an installer for bzr that will work. Or if not is there a doc to get it running on a system like this?

It depends what your overall goal is. If you only want to run Bazaar you probably should go with the standalone installer (bzr-setup-*.exe, I think.) This way you don't even have to know that it's written in Python.
If you really want to go 2.6 you have to compile it yourself. Start here: <http://bazaar-vcs.org/BzrOnPureWindows> I have gone through this, and can tell you that it a) works and b) is not quite worth the hassle at this time, as quite a few dependencies don't provide 2.6 packages either yet.

Can you help with this problem?
