First time user - are there pre-requisites for "Get project source from elsewhere"

We are new users.

My colleague has setup Bazaar on his Linux server, created a project, and made it available to me over the internet.

I have installed the Windows version on my Win7 laptop.

Opening the Bazaar Explorer it seems that what I need is to "Get project source from elsewhere". Running through the dialogue I now have a copy of the project code on my laptop.

But it feels wrong. The code is in a sub-directory ("trunk") on my laptop and my colleague says that does not match what happens on his Linux server.

Did I miss a pre-requisite? In particular am I supposed to "Start a new project" on my laptop before I get the project source from his server?
