"Working tree differs" message

The message "Working tree differs from revision" appears in the bazaar gui.

I have tried checkins, updates merges and diffs and none of these provide or indicate a solution to this message.

What is the cause of this and how do I get rid of it.

 What does running "bzr status" on the command-line report?

try adding --unchanged to the commit command. e.g.

bzr commit --unchanged -m "committing unchanged files"
