Bazaar Version Control System

Client and server as same location

Asked by Abhay Joshi on 2011-06-18

Hi,

I am trying out Bazaar, and I want to keep sever and client at same location. later I will install client on other PC in network. I want to access server from client in both PC(client on server PC and other PC) in way.

I have Win XP 32 bit PC's, What are the best options for me to do that?

Currently I am pushing changes from client on server by hard coded path(D:/WSBZR/WSShared). For other PC, I am starting 'serve' as 'bzr serve --directory=.' at shared location and pulling changes from 'bzr://COMP1:4155/trunk'.

Should I use --allow-writes to push changes from client on server?
Can I use IIS or something?

I am dumb about server configurations. so while trial and error misleads me.

If you provide step by step help. that will help me lot.

Regards

Abhay

Hi,

I wouldn't recommend you run --allow-writes on the network, as that's fairly insecure and meant to only be used when security is provided by a different level.

It would be better to set up an SSH server and run bzr across that.

See http://doc.bazaar.canonical.com/bzr.dev/en/admin-guide/index.html for a guide and please ask if you have any questions.

Can you help with this problem?
