Windows Installation 2.2.1

Asked by bigReg

Hi

I have just tried to install Bazaar 2.2.1 on a clean Windows XP SP 2 machine. I download the "Standalone" installation package. Copied it to my test machine. Ran the installer. I selected the "Typical Installation". It seems to have extracted all the files. But then there is a warning

"Unable to execute file C:\Program Files\ Bazaar\bzr_postinstall.exe
CreateProcess failed; code 14001"

It has created the desktop icon but does not seem to have added the Bazaar path to the system path. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have tried restarting the PC. When I click on the desktop icon I get a similar warning message.

This is my first experiance of Bazaar, so it is not going well so far.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi, this is due to https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/632465 and there's a workaround there: install the Microsoft VC++ runtime by hand. We should have new installers soon. Sorry you hit it.

Hi

Thanks Martin that worked great. I just installed the MS runtime then reinstall Bazaar and I am now up and running. Thanks again for such a prompt response.
