Does not run - Command prompt comes and goes

Asked by Bruce

I installed, un-installed, and then installed Bazaar again. Now when I click on ANY of the supplied icons, the command prompt box comes up and then immediately goes away. If I try and run BZR without anything else (i.e., without the "explorer" param), it does the same thing. I looked for any log files (none) and for any Events - also none.

Can you open shell console and just run `bzr` command. Is it works for you?

I have the same problem - using Windows XP, Bazaar 2.1.1 standalone package using the typical installation. Double clicking the Bazaar Explorer icon makes a command line interface appear and then disappear almost instantly, too quickly to read the text. Going to the command line in the folder where Bazaar was installed, I can get the error message: typing `bzr explorer` returns an error message stating "Needs at least Python2.5 or Python 2.4 with pysqlite2 module. (newline) bzr: ERROR: missing sqlite library". That's fairly clear - but I thought the purpose of the standalone package was that all necessary files were included! :)

The strange thing was, when I initially installed Bazaar, it worked fine. I uninstalled it trying to fix something else, and then the reinstall now doesn't work. Maybe the uninstall took away Python but left something somewhere that says "Yes, Python is installed" but it really isn't?

Actually, I went back and typed "bzr explorer" and received a totally different message - it said Launchpad was required. When I installed Bazaar, I specifically omitted Launchpad because I don't need it, and the installer said it was optional. IT'S NOT. I installed Bazaar again, this time including Launchpad, and now it works.
