Usage of the Singleton pattern

Asked by Archimedes Trajano on 2010-06-08

I was curious why the singleton pattern was used in a few of the classes. Wouldn't it be better if they were not so you can implement mock classes for unit testing?

I totally agree ... maybe you could create a branch to do this. I think if you create mock classes with tests then it will be seen as a valuable contribution and it will justify the changes being merged into trunk.

Ok, I'll see what I can do, for now I can't get the tests passing 100% on my development environment (Mac + Eclipse)

Can you help with this problem?
