color palette isn't the same-purpleish

That color doesn't look particularly purplish at this end. Is the color itself looking purple, or the highlight? Have you tried generating a pure white to see if it looks purple, too? Please try using photoshop or something like that to verify the generated color is what you intended.

you can see the difference here: http://mhsca.org/membership.html 3 of theses buttons were generated today. #0033ff generates a purple button, not blue like the palette shows. All of the other buttons were #0033ff and made a few years ago

Which buttons are new? They all look the same to me (except for the heading buttons, of course).

very odd. So, the buttons look ok on my webpage using Internet Explorer, but not Firefox on my desktop PC. But on my laptop using Firefox the buttons look ok. I don't understand, but it obviously isn't your problem.

Attached is a screen shot of Front Page, Firefox, IE screens. You should be able to see the purple now on the center menu. Apparently Firefox has some issues with certain color palettes, but I don't know what I can do about it. And this same webpage on my laptop looks correct using the same version Firefox browser. So wtf? I don't know.

Is Firefox showing visited image links in a different "color" somehow? Try clearing the browser history and/or cache?
