Why would burg.cfg is appended with ,new?

Asked by Frank M Waterman

Attempting installation of BURG bootloader on Mint 18.2 Cinnamon according to directions provided by tutorial on one of Mint's pages.

After being instructed by tutorial to reboot system computer booted to BURG editor. System successfully restarted and recovered with Super Grub. Examination of contents of /boot/burg/ revealed configuration file named burg.cfg.NEW. Additionally, link to launch BURG configuration utility missing from Menu, or does that require installation of that other package - whatever its name is?

Bottom line: WHY would the BURG configuration file be misnamed, causing it to fail to load correctly?

Thank you
