searchable application indicator

Currently you can use the Diodon Unity Lens to have a searcharble Diodon history.

I've also taken a look the way Parcellite implements a searchable indicator/menu.

However I would rather prefer a search field on a indicator where I can see what I type and the items are filtered accordingly. Not sure how difficult this is to implement with an application indicator.

is there any chance for a searchable history in the near future? Using a scope is not as handy as direct access via the shortcut to see the history or on click on the diodon icon. Versus at two clicks or one key press (Super) and one click to access the scope.

We have limited resources but contributions are always welcome.

You also might wanna have a look at https://github.com/RedHatter/diodon-plugins some 3rd party plugins which have some rough edges but it is a start.

One more hint concerning the scope.

It actually can be open with <Super>b to avoid the two clicks.

Using Ubuntu 18.04 (Gnome): Since Unity is not the default anymore, there is currently no native way to search the Diodon history. So this should get a higher priority.
Maybe the plugins from https://github.com/RedHatter/diodon-plugins could be integrated by default? Together with https://github.com/RedHatter/diodon-gnome-indicator, it's possible to search within the history.

There is another issue at https://bugs.launchpad.net/diodon/+bug/1738566 concerning Gnome Shell Extension.

I would love to see it integrated into core. I am currently not using GNOME though so any help is appreciated.

Open tasks I would see is integration into https://github.com/diodon-dev/diodon and adjusting https://code.launchpad.net/~diodon-team/diodon/ppa-packaging so there is an additional debian package for the Gnome Shell extension.

Also other plugins are welcome to be integrated into Diodon as long as they are well written and cover a common need - also PRs are appreciated.
