Bug Description

Installed brand new fresh Natty Alpha 3 on an Acer Aspire One 110 Netbook.

Certain applications which provide application indicators do not show. Examples include Dropbox, Redshift and the indicator-weather app.

If I launch the classic Ubuntu desktop, or a Unity 2D session, the indicators appear in the top-right application indicator area as expected. This issue only exists in regular Unity.

I'm looking into this now, and it seems even with indicator-loader (which is the most simple host of an indicator), indicator weather is showing a 1px dot only. In unity, you can actually get to the indicator if you guess where it's menu would be, and also if you use the arrow keys.

Dropbox doesn't work because they need to update their libappindicator to the latest, and gtk-redshift works fine for me with latest Unity.

What I think is the bug here is that indicator-weather needs to have a sane default string like "click to configure" or something, as right now it's non-obvious that you need to set it up before it works. Marking as invalid in Unity

I should add that, once you set it up, it works really nicely :)

I did find the one pixel and managed to click on it to set it up, after that it works like a charm! Would it be possible to make it so that when this app is launched for the first time it forces you to the configuration page? That would solve this problem.
