Bug Description

Using firefox 2.0b1, a div with display: fixed is drawn in a "trail" as page is scrolled up. This worked fine on Firefox 1.5+ . I am running AIGLX; not sure if that is related.

http://demo.taskfreak.com/ very clearly illustrates this. Resize the window so that a vertical scroll bar can is available, scroll down, then scroll back up.

Same here, but it also seems to happen when scrolling down now. Also, switching to any other application seems to clean up the problem.

This is fixed in my version of Firefox:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0 (Ubuntu-edgy)

I will not close now as this may be an outstanding issue in Dapper. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I can confirm this behaviour in Edgy Eft, with Firefox 2.0.0.1, Xorg 7.1.1 and the Nvidia driver.

Thank you for the bug report. Could you please install the firefox-dbg package and try to obtain a backtrace (or crash report) by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Which flash package do you have installed?
Which Java package do you have installed?
Which firefox extensions do you have installed?

I have:

* Java(TM) Plug-in 1.5.0_08-b03, File name: libjavaplugin_oji.so, Java(TM) Plug-in 1.5.0_08
* Shockwave Flash, File name: libflashplayer.so, Shockwave Flash 9.0 d78

I have a large number of extensions installed. However I've just disabled all of them, and it makes no difference.

Firefox does not crash. Therefore I have not tried firefox-dbg- let me know if I should.

Before we can process your bug furhther and triage this upstream, I would like to ensure that you indeed ran without any extension installed. For that, try:

 # firefox -safe-mode

and let us know if the problem has disappeared.

I can confirm that even in safe mode (which I never knew about), the display of the http://demo.taskfreak.com/ screws up on scrolling.

This has been fixed for me for a while. If anyone is still seeing this issue,
