Bug Description

i accidentaly stumbled upon https://login.ubuntu.com and was baffled

the information given here https://login.ubuntu.com/+description and here https://login.ubuntu.com/+faq does answer some questions. but i would like to know what the exact plan is.

some questions i would like to see answered:
 * when will the transition happen for which site.
 * what will happen with the usernames already registered, for example in http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com (which is not linked to launchpad, afaik).
 * how can i tell that the login.ubuntu.com username and password is no longer linked to the launchpad username and password.

Hi, and thanks for the questions. Sorry you found the new service baffling - it seems that the description and FAQ pages did their job in answering some of your questions but we always expected more so, to help you and others, I'm going to move all three of the questions you've asked to the 'Answers' section of launchpad:

 * https://answers.launchpad.net/canonical-identity-provider/+question/103875
 * https://answers.launchpad.net/canonical-identity-provider/+question/103876
 * https://answers.launchpad.net/canonical-identity-provider/+question/103877

Marking this bug submission as invalid and moving follow-up responses to the questions.
