GRUB error 18 will not boot ubuntu or windows

Bug Description

attempted to install ubuntu off internet disk, worked good but would not install. So I ordered 9/04 disk from ubuntu, installed it, now I get the above error message and neither ubuntu or windows will load, only can access ubuntu from cd rom disc

I guess this is not a bug. Please read the follow link and try to create a /boot partition within the lba limit.

Maybe grub error 18 is not a bug itself, but I think ubiquity should avoid install /boot beyond the lba limit.

Virtually all machines made within the last 10-15 years do not have this limitation, and due to the fragility of the msdos partition scheme, we don't want to create a /boot partition by default.
