Bug Description

During installation, kubuntu prompts for a Web proxy server. If the machine (laptop) is later moved to another network where the proxy server name is not resolvable through DNS, and the user clicks on "Fetch Updates" button in Adept, Adept appears to go through the motions of fetching updates, and doesn't display any error messages, and it appears to the user that no updates are available, when in fact updates are available.

E.g., /etc/apt/apt.conf includes:

Acquire::http::Proxy "http://foo.example.com";

and /etc/resolv.conf doesn't exist.

Thank you for filing this bug.
Adept should be made aware of network status. This is bug 44105.

Closing duplicate bug. (There's no Status = Closed. Invalid is the closest I see.)

Changed in ept (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
