Strange. I just checked on kubuntu 9.04 and I have no error.
When did you get this error: during the main application, during a backup, during a backup from cron ?
If it is from a backup/backup+cron can you please run from the console the command: "backintime --backup-job" and send me the output.

It happens during a regular hourly backup scheduled from the main application in Kubuntu.

However, I hae just done as you requested and the output is below. Note that BiT did *not*crash when run this way.

So the crush happens when it runs from cron.
Can you schedule automatic backups to every 5 minutes and when it crush check your syslog (/var/log/syslog) for lines containing 'backintime' word. Can you attach this lines ?

Hi Sergion99

Just a suggestion from reading the description of the problems experienced, but to me it seems similar to my experiences in bug 441628 having to do with kde . https://bugs.launchpad.net/backintime/+bug/441628 .

Good suggestion. I am starting to believe that you are right, as (also in the earlier parts of this bug) the system tray icon is the one that is causing problems especially in the cron jobs with bigger intervals (as in when the screen turns black). I will link the bugs together.
