Bug Description

Binary package hint: lsb-desktop

meta-package lsb-desktop currently depends on libqt4-gui which is a dummy transitional package. Need to change lsb-desktop to depend on the various libraries that libqt4-gui depends on, and stop depending on libqt4-gui.

Forgot to mention -- I noticed this in Intrepid. Not sure if it affects other releases at this time.

Still a problem in Karmic. lsb-desktop still depends on lib4qt-gui, and lib4qt-gui still describes itself as a "dummy transitional" package. Dummy transitional packages should be removable -- nothing should depend on them. Either lsb-desktop should be directed to the child packages which libqt4-gui depends on, or libqt4-gui should have its description changed so it no longer describes itself as a dummy transitional package.

Continues to be a problem in lucid. The libqt4-gui package split into 5 different packages as of Intrepid. So, with the advent of Lucid, this has now been a bug for 2 full years. The libqt4-gui package does not describe itself as a metapackage, but as a transitional, dummy package. That is, nothing should depend on it, once users have migrated to the new release.

Please review lsb-dekstop's use of the libraries in libqt4-gui. Please choose the libraries that are actually necessary to fulfill the needs of lsb-desktop, and remove libqt4-gui from the requirements for this package.
