Bug Description

Ok maybe it's me who is doing something wrong but the spent field in the budget is always 0 even if there are transactions in my categories for the selected timespan.

The strange thing is that I can see the transactions in the budget report when I click on a category (in the list view). For example if I click on the "grocery" category, I'll see all the corresponding transactions but somehow it is not being calculated in the spent field.

Is the account correctly set for the budget?
There is a checkbox into account properties to enable its transaction to be computed into the budget.
Please check the account is not closed, it set to budget and that transaction are not in remind state.

Ok... silly me. There is no problem with the spent field. My accounts were simply not included for the budget. I didn't notice this checkbox. Thanks for your help!

Had the same problem, works great now. Could you include a hint on this account-related option in the documentation (in which ever of budget dialog/basic concepts/budget report section you find most appropriate?

Maybe something like "The budget report will only compute transactions in accounts that are set up as to be included in the budget (see Accounts dialog)." in the introduction of the budget dialog section would help users troubleshooting this.

Thanks for the great software and documentation!
