openoffice continually crashing on Ubuntu 8.10

Bug Description

I have one repeatable (and repeated) crash.
When building a presentation if I then 'play' the presentation (F5 for full screen), when I ESC and return to edit the file it will always crash. Usually it will recover elegantly but could crash 20 times in a day.

Word processor is more random and seems to crash with a heavy workload. It does not recover elegantly but to some previous save point.

It makes openoffice.org a truly horrible experience under 8.10 and a massive drain on productivity.

I am running a Lenovo X41

Do you still have this problem with the new version of OOo in the ppa at https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive ?
