Bug Description

Ubuntu version : Intrepid

file and libmagic1 version : 4.24-4

When I want to have informations from a .ogg audio file, I use the file command from terminal. But now, with this version, it doesn't recognize ogg anymore.

In Hardy, for example, I had :

Ogg data, Vorbis audio, stereo, 44100 Hz, ~112000 bps, created by: Xiph.Org libVorbis I

In Intrepid, I have :

      data

When I ask "file --mime-type" about a .ogg audio file, I only have the answer : application/octet-stream

And of course programs based upon file/libmagic1 don't work anymore with ogg, like the excellent audio converter Xcfa.

I can also confirm this bug with the latest version of 'file' on Ubuntu Server 8.10.

This is fixed in 4.25 and up, upstream. The attached debdiff against the current Intrepid version makes Ogg files detect properly again with file.
