Bug Description

I was uninstalling mysql-server with apt-get --purge remove <mysql>

Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10

mysql-server-5.0:
  Installed: 5.0.67-0ubuntu6

I expected the package to uninstall but instead it failed and the following crash report was generated.

Could you please attach the file /var/log/daemon.log it may contains useful informations to track down your problem. You need admin privileges in order to read that file.
