Lexmark X5470 doesn't print

Bug Description

Printer installed as "_X5400_" under Printing Preferences, but when you press print the printer does nothing atall.

The scanner is also not picked up by Xsane, however the Memory card reader does work.

Please let me know if you need more information, and what is needed.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. Please, can you attach the cupsys log: this is a file where CUPSYS writes information about what it is doing. Almost all printing problems can be diagnosed from the error log, so it is the first place to look to start solving problems. To be useful, you must change the logging level:

   1.Select "System" -> "Administration" -> "Printing" in the main menu of your desktop. The printer setup tool system-config-printer will open. Select "Server Settings" in the list on the left. Then check the check box "Save debugging information for troubleshooting" and click "Apply".
   2. In /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, find the line "LogLevel ..."; change it to" LogLevel debug"; save.
   3. 'sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys restart'
   4. Try to print something.
   5. Add /var/log/cups/error_log as an attachment to the bug report.

Lexmark X5470 Not Printing Edit (9.1 KiB, text/plain)

I have similar issue. Lexmark X5470 "installed" as Device URI: usb://Lexmark/5400%20Series, Make and Model: Lexmark 5000 Foomatic/lx5000 (recommended), when I print test page, the printer state is: Idle - No %%Pages: comment in header!

The error log is attached.

Lexmark does not provide a linux driver for this printer, so we are unable to fix this in Ubuntu therefore converting to question.
Please ask Lexmark to provide a linux driver.
