Sparkle should give visual response when the user clicks "check for updates..."

Bug Description
When the user clicks "Check for Updates...", nothing immediately happens; if there are poor network conditions, it could be a few seconds before there's a response. This is confusing. Sparkle should pop up a "checking for updates..." dialog thing.
