In Hardy 64bit the News Feeds Subscription menu item is always clickable and if used on a page that has no feeds it returns nothing on the screen.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

OK, I'll try to be more precise:

1 Open epiphany and go to the default page: file:///usr/share/ubuntu-artwork/home/locales/index-en_GB.html. Clearly the page has no rss feeds.

2 I would expect, and that was the behavoiur of epiphany in gutsy, the 'New Feeds Subscrition' voice under the 'Tools' menu to be grayed out.

3 What happens in Hardy is that the the 'New Feeds Subscrition' voice is not grayed out and clicking it results in nothing, no messages, no error notification, just nothing.

hope this helps

could you try if that's still an issue using the current versions? that seems to work correctly on intrepid

It is still an issue for me in Intrepid 64bit up-to-date. Furthermore, now once a website with a news feed is reached, the the feed remains in the list until the current epiphany session is closed.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of Epiphany Browser is available in both Lucid and Maverick and we are wondering if this is still reproducible in any of those versions, May you please test and give us of feedback about it? Thanks in advance.
