clipping when exporting bitmap

Bug Description

When I export a bitmap that is not the entire page, but "Drawing" or "Object" and the outermost features of the drawing or object has a thick border or a blur effect that expands past the anchor points and there is no solid area behind it (i.e. transparent background), the export will clip the image to the bounding anchor points and not include the blur or borders that expand past. The x?,y? and width/height values should automatically take those into account so I don't need to draw a transparent box around the object or drawing to define the true boundaries.

InkScape 0.45.1 Windows XP

Apparently you guys like sample drawings, so here you go. The star points are clipped, the blur is clipped. Click the object and export bitmap for "Selection" or "Drawing"

clipping of bbox for blur is fixed in svn, this fix will be in 0.47

This is still present in inkscape-0.47pre3. The attached SVG file is a simple square with a 20 px stroke, export 'Drawing' and all four corners will be clipped.

Sorry for double post, I've just noticed that 'File->Document Properties->Fit page to selection' so clips the corners, and also selecting the path appears to clip in the same way, all these appear to be related to the bounding box of the path + stroke. if the stroke is set to 1px the clipping stops, so i presume the bounding box isn't taking the stroke into account or the math is wrong regarding stroke somehow.

Thanks

Reproduced with Inkscape 0.46+devel r22476 on OS X 10.5.8

all corners of the (unblurred, stroked) path are cut off when exporting 'selection' or drawing' to bitmap (bbox settings have no influence as bitmap export always uses visual bbox).

Note: I am not sure if there doesn't already exist a separate bug report about it - this bug originally was about cut-off blurs when exporting to bitmap. The stroke cap/miter bbox problem is a different issue, unrelated to including the blur into the visual bbox.

@Nathan - bug #168385 was originally about your issue but was also marked fixed (maybe prematurely?)
«When the "mitre join" option is set for stroke then the stroke lines exceed the bounding box ("bb").» describes exactly your issue and still isn't fixed.

Proposing to close this bug again and move the discussion to bug #168385

As noted in bug #168385 the unwanted clipping of blurs and of sharp stroke corners are separate issues, and only one of them (blur) is fixed. This bug is not a duplicate of bug #168385. Please subscribe to it separately.
